Activision has emerged victorious in its legal battle against EngineOwning
In a significant legal victory, Activision has succeeded in its lawsuit against EngineOwning, a company known for creating cheats for various video games, including Call of Duty.
According to VentureBeat, the Central District of California's United States District Court has awarded Activision $14.4 million in damages, along with $292,912 for legal expenses.
In addition to the financial judgment, the court issued an injunction against the Germany-based EngineOwning and mandated the transfer of its domain name to Activision.
EngineOwning offers cheating tools for several high-profile video games, including Call of Duty, Counter-Strike, Battlefield, and Titanfall.
The legal action against EngineOwning began in January 2022. Activision's lawsuit contended that the cheats provided by EngineOwning resulted in severe and lasting harm to the company's reputation and financial performance.
