The European regulator suspects that technology giants Apple, Google and Meta* are violating the Digital Markets Act (DMA). He launched a large-scale investigation that will last up to 12 months.

Apple
- The European Commission will examine the restrictions and commissions that Apple has imposed on developers who wish to distribute iOS applications in Europe not through the App Store.

Meta*
- The European Commission will study the new "pay or accept" advertising policy. Instagram Facebook** and Instagram** users are offered to subscribe to the company. For 9.99 euros per month, EU residents can use social networks without advertising and personal data collection.
Companies face fines of up to 10% of global annual turnover. In case of repeated violation, the fine can reach 20%.
