The money was received by such studios as GLITCHERS, Tiny Rebel Games, Triangular Pixels, Nyamyam, Fumb Games, Spilt Milk Studios, Blazing Griffin, Variable State, Warp Digital Entertainment, Companion Group and others.
It is not reported how much each particular studio got. Under the terms of the fund, developers can apply for grants in the amount of 50 to 150 thousand pounds.
"Support for video games is one of the most important components of the government's plans for the development of the creative industry, which can reach 50 billion pounds by 2030. We support talented developers so that they can maximize their potential and bring to life ideas worthy of a BAFTA award and good sales," said Lucy Frazer, UK Minister of Culture.
There are already BAFTA Award nominees among the studios that have received grants. These are GLITCHERS for the VR version of the game Sea Hero Quest in 2018 and Triangular Pixels for Unseen Diplomacy in 2017.
