Fifteen hundred British developers have filed a lawsuit against Apple

In the UK, a class action lawsuit was brought against Apple for £785 million, or about $ 1 billion. The subject of the claim is a high commission in the App Store.

The initiator of the lawsuit was Sean Ennis, a professor in the field of competition policy from the University of East Anglia. He filed a lawsuit on behalf of 1,566 British developers. Geradin Partners law firm will represent their interests in court.

Ennis claims that Apple abuses its position in the market and charges developers an “anticompetitive” commission of 30%. Because of the corporation’s policy, both developers and ordinary users suffer: developers receive less money and as a result spend less on developing applications and creating innovations.

According to TechCrunch, the plaintiffs hope that the court will combine their complaint with a lawsuit filed in 2021 on behalf of British App Store users. He demands to reimburse the residents of the country for £1.5 billion ($ 1.93 billion).
