Microsoft and CMA got time to discuss the purchase of Activision Blizzard

Litigation between Microsoft and British regulators in connection with the purchase of Activision Blizzard continues unabated. In addition, they only become more confusing.

Yesterday, a hearing was held at the UK Competition Court of Appeal. They concerned the postponement of Microsoft’s appeal. The latter is directed against the decision of the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) to block the deal with Activision Blizzard. It was supposed to be considered by the court on July 24.

Just last week, Microsoft agreed with the CMA on negotiations during which it will be possible to discuss and change the terms of the deal. Therefore, both sides requested the court to postpone the consideration of the appeal. The court agreed to satisfy their requests.

In addition, the CMA postponed the entry into force of its decision to block the transaction from July 18 to August 29.
