Indian Antimonopoly Service fined Google $162 million
The Competition Commission of India (CCI) stated that Google is abusing its dominant position in several markets at once: mobile operating systems, search engines, video hosting, browsers and mobile marketplaces.
Among other things, CCI decided that Google should stop preventing developers from distributing applications outside of its store. The Commission pointed out that Google does not formally prohibit owners of Android smartphones from installing applications not from Google Play, but regularly advises against doing so, since such applications may be unsafe.
