Japanese court: Time limit on video games does not violate constitutional rights
Two years ago, the authorities of the Japanese prefecture of Kagawa banned minors from playing video games for more than an hour on weekdays (and more than an hour and a half on weekends). A local teenager tried to challenge the ban in court, but to no avail.
The teenager claimed that the restriction violated the constitutional rights to freedom and happiness, and demanded to pay him compensation in the amount of $ 11.5 thousand. However, the court disagreed, referring to the WHO, which recognizes gambling addiction as a disease.
