The FTC filed an antitrust lawsuit against Meta* over plans to buy the authors of the Supernatural VR game
The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) intends to prevent Meta* from buying Within Unlimited, a developer of a fitness game for Supernatural virtual reality. The agency sued, saying that such a deal would lead to the creation of a monopoly.
The FTC reminded that Meta* already owns a similar game — Beat Saber. But instead of “competing fairly” with other developers, the company is “trying to buy its way to the top of success.”
*The company’s activities are prohibited on the territory of the Russian Federation.
