Dubai authorities intend to create 40,000 jobs in the metaverse and increase the city's GDP by $4 billion in five years
Dubai wants to enter the top ten largest metaverse economies in the world. According to Bloomberg, the city authorities have launched a strategy under which the number of companies engaged in the metaverse and blockchain should grow fivefold in five years.
The strategy also includes the creation of infrastructure, the construction of secure platforms and the development of the necessary standards.
Now there are over a thousand similar companies in the city — their total contribution to the economy exceeds $ 500 million. For example, Emirates airline announced its metaverse ambitions, and developer Damac Group said it was going to build digital cities.
