Epic Games is preparing to sue the creators of the Fortnite Token cryptocurrency
Tim Sweeney is dissatisfied with the existence of the Fortnite Token cryptocurrency. The head of Epic Games called it a fraud and said that these tokens violate the company’s copyrights. However, the creators of Fortnite Token disagree with the accusations.
Fortnite Token appeared on the market in December 2021. The name of the cryptocurrency directly refers to the game Fortnite, developed by Epic Games. As well as the logo, which is made in the corporate style of the title.
Yesterday Sweeney began actively writing under Fortnite Token tweets about the illegality of the actions of the token authors. He warned that Epic Games’ lawyers are already preparing a lawsuit and will defend the company’s rights.
In response, the crypto team stated that the tokens are not fraudulent, and Fortnite fans are behind their development “instead of a specific owner, company or CEO deciding its future.”
