A class action lawsuit was filed against the evaluation company Wata Games. She is accused of conspiring to artificially inflate the prices of retro games
Wata Games is a company evaluating the condition of sealed cartridges with retro games. A year ago, she got into the center of a scandal because of fraud. Allegedly, she, along with the Heritage Auctions auction site, manipulated prices on the market.
According to media reports, Wata Games and Heritage Auctions specifically inflated the price tag of the games (for example, in the summer a cartridge with Super Mario Bros. sold for $ 2 million). The more expensive the game cost, the more deductions companies received. This is just one of the charges.
The other day, dissatisfied customers of Wata Games filed a lawsuit in the District Court of California. As the VGC publication suggests, there may be more than 10 thousand plaintiffs.
Wata Games has not yet commented on the lawsuit.
