CD Projekt has started negotiations to settle a class action lawsuit from investors

CD Projekt has a chance to resolve the conflict with investors in a pre-trial order. The company has entered into negotiations to settle the class action. Separately, the developers of Cyberpunk 2077 noted that they are not going to agree with all the claims in their address.CD Projekt announced this in a new report on its official website.

The District Court of the Central District of California suspended the proceedings on the motion to dismiss the lawsuit, as the parties began the process of negotiations on its settlement.

If CD Projekt and disgruntled investors come to an agreement, they will have to get its approval in court by January 13, 2022.

“It should be noted that the beginning of negotiations on a possible settlement of the dispute should in no way be interpreted as acceptance by the company and its board members of any allegations set out in the lawsuits,” CD Projekt said in a statement.

According to The Verge, it is still unclear exactly how the settlement process will take place. Neither the approximate amount of possible compensation is known, nor specific investors who will be able to count on some money.

In total, since the release of Cyberpunk 2077, which took place in December last year, at least five class actions have been filed against CD Projekt. In May, four of them were merged into one. The company was accused of misleading investors and releasing a low-quality game.

Now CD Projekt continues to work on the next generation versions of Cyberpunk 2077. They should be presented next year. The company has also repeatedly stressed that it intends to work on improving the game for as long as it takes.
