PUBG banned in Nepal
The “Battle Royale” of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is now banned in Nepal. Already today, providers and mobile operators across the country will begin blocking PUBG streams.
The decision was made by the Nepal Communications Authority (NTA), writes Reuters. The reasons for banning battle royale are the same as in India: children’s gambling addiction and outbursts of aggression. However, in Indian cities the game was banned only during exams.
According to Gamasutra, cases of violence related to the game have not been officially registered in Nepal. But the country’s authorities are still concerned about the negative impact of PUBG on schoolchildren and their academic performance.
In this regard, the Metropolitan Crime Division of Nepal filed a lawsuit for the protection of public interests in the Kathmandu District Court. Before filing the lawsuit, the police consulted with psychiatrists. They confirmed that violence in PUBG can lead to manifestations of aggression in real life.
