China has imposed a ban on the import and sale of seven iPhone models. According to the ruling of the Chinese People’s Court in Fuzhou, Apple violated two Qualcomm patents.

The iPhone 6s, iPhone 6S Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X models were banned. In the Chinese store, Apple has already withdrawn some of the models from sale.

The ruling did not affect the new iPhone XS, XS Max and XR, which were not created at the time of filing the lawsuit. But these three models, according to UBS, are not in great demand, unlike the banned ones.

Apple and Qualcomm have been arguing in court for several years. Apple Corporation claims that Qualcomm, its former supplier, is abusing its position in the chip market. Qualcomm, in response, filed 12 patent infringement lawsuits in Chinese courts by four Apple divisions in the country at once.

The ban on the sale of the iPhone risks becoming another obstacle for the Chinese game dev. This year has already been difficult for him: new games are still not licensed in China, and the revenue of local companies has decreased, as well as the forecast for the growth of the gaming market.
