A Korean studio without a portfolio received an investment of $1.8 million
Mobile developer from Korea BiNAREE received investments worth $ 1.8 million. The money came from NCsoft, a company known for its PC titles in the MMORPG genre. This is reported by the Tech in Asia resource.
BiNAREE is currently developing a shareware midcore strategy about the zombie apocalypse. The working name of the game is APO. Softlonch is expected in 12-16 months, full launch – 2 months after the trial.
Thus, the game will take almost 2 years. Considering that APO will be the first title of the studio, from the point of view of investing money, this is a rather risky project.
Perhaps NCsoft’s decision to invest in a startup was influenced by the track record of the founder of the studio Kyungheon Kim (Kyungheon Kim). He was a co-founder and vice president at CrayonPixel Inc., then a producer at Ntiq Games, and after that he worked for 8 months as an executive producer at Rovio Entertainment.
