The authors of The Walking Dead: No Man's Land acquired Helsinki GameWorks
Finnish studio Next Games, which is currently preparing a mobile game in The Walking Dead universe, has acquired its neighbors – startup Helsinki GameWorks.
Both teams have not released any games yet and can only boast of experienced employees. Next Games is founded by people from Rovio, Supercell and Disney. Helsinki GameWorks gathered mainly veterans of Rovio, Remedy, Recoil Games and Futuremark.
The amount of the transaction was not disclosed, but it is known that the CEO of GameWorks Kalle Kaivola, who previously served as vice president of product and publishing at Rovio, will become the head of games under licenses at Next Games.
