Industrial Toys, which is led by Bungie founder Alex Seropian, has received new investments of $5 million from Accel Partners as part of Round A.

Industrial Toys will need the funds to complete its debut project, the iOS shooter Midnight Star, the beta version of which is scheduled to launch this summer.

Seropian reaffirmed his commitment to the hardcore direction in mobile development. According to him, today's tablets are even better than the consoles he once worked with. And today there is almost no decent content for hardcore players on them.

According to Alex, it is not enough just to port games from consoles: it is very important to delve into the very essence of the "tablets", take into account the management features and the degree of player involvement. Adjust the gameplay to the daily rhythm of using such devices.

A representative of Accel Partners, which has been investing in the gaming industry for a long time (among its clients are Rovio Supercell, Playfish, Gameforge, Mind Candy), noted that the hardcore segment in the mobile market is almost not disclosed, and in general it seems to be a very tasty morsel.
