Digital Capital invested $5 million in wedding games
The investment company has invested as much as $5 million in its own Dream Weddings division, which creates games aimed at those who are going to get married.
It is expected that the company’s first game will be announced during this year, and will appear in mobile stores (as well as online) in early 2014. The developers of the project, first of all, do not rely on a unique gameplay, but on advertisers who will get convenient access to the grooms and brides.
According to Dream Weddings, the wedding business in the world reaches $298 billion. The problem is that it is extremely fragmented. With the help of its application, the company hopes to penetrate this business. The main feature of the game developers call “unobtrusive advertising”. By the way, the Dream Weddings project, apparently, will be not only a game, but also a social service at once.
Dream Weddings was founded in December last year. The number of developers is 24 people. The company is headed by Chris Klug, who at one time worked at EA as a creative director (in 2011 he led Earth & Beyond).
