Key Developments
The sales figures were propelled by prominent series such as Resident Evil, Pragmata, Monster Hunter, and Onimusha. "Resident Evil Requiem" launched in February and has sold over eight million copies. Its success, alongside continuing high demand for Resident Evil 4 and 2, bolstered revenues.
Capcom's latest IP, Pragmata, has achieved sales surpassing 2.7 million units since debuting in April. Meanwhile, "Onimusha: Way of the Sword," which launched on September 4, has already sold over 1.7 million units, contributing to cumulative series sales of 11 million.
Following Capcom's announcement of a new Monster Hunter expansion, both existing and upcoming Monster Hunter Wilds will be accessible on the Nintendo Switch 2. This news led to a surge in sales of previous Monster Hunter games.
"Devil May Cry 5," released in 2019, has reached 14 million units sold, a feat attributed to its strategic rollout on the Switch 2 and favorable pricing linked to its Netflix series. Additionally, Street Fighter sales escalated to 32.18 million units, a notable rise compared to the 22.85 million units recorded last year.
Capcom continues to enhance the synergy between its gaming and esports sectors to broaden brand recognition and expand its user base.
