Fireshine Games acquired the creators of the pixel sandbox game Necesse

The British publisher Fireshine Games, known for releasing Core Keeper, Far Far West, and a plethora of other games, has recently expanded. The company announced the acquisition of the indie studio Fair Games.

Under the terms of the deal, Fireshine Games has advanced the developers $4 million and promised an additional payment of up to $2 million depending on the volume of new content released by Fair Games. Furthermore, there is a possibility of additional payments between 10-20% of the net revenue if the studio reaches its target metrics.

Fair Games has retained its creative independence, and its founder and CEO, Mads Skovgaard, continues to lead the studio.

As hoped by Skovgaard, the support from Fireshine Games will make it easier for his team to develop Necesse—a pixelated multiplayer sandbox where users explore a procedurally generated world with dungeons. The studio has already planned to scale up the next content patches for the game and has agreed with the publisher to release Necesse beyond PC.

Necesse is currently Fair Games' only title. It initially debuted in Steam Early Access in December 2019 and reached its full release in October 2025. It is reported to have sold 2.5 million copies to date, with gross revenue of $14.4 million.

Fireshine Games is itself a subsidiary of the holding company Enad Global 7.
