The share of XBOX console sales in Russia dropped to 2% — and other statistics for the first half of 2026

The company "M.Video" shared its observations on console sales in the Russian market for January-June 2026. We selected the main points from the report.

  • In six months, Russians purchased 795,000 various consoles, spending 14.35 billion rubles on them. For comparison, a year ago the demand was lower — 655,000 consoles were sold in the country for 11.99 billion rubles.
  • According to "M.Video," there are two reasons for the increase: firstly, gamers want to seize the opportunity to buy consoles before another price hike due to the crisis in the component market, and secondly, they are actively preparing for the release of GTA VI.
  • PlayStation consoles remained the top hit, accounting for 74.3% of sales in rubles and 25.2% in units.
  • Steam Deck took second place in ruble sales with an 8.4% share. As for unit sales, Steam Deck ranked fourth with a 2.4% share.
  • Nintendo Switch 1 and 2 secured third place in both rankings, responsible for 5.5% of spending and 3.2% of sold consoles.
  • Additionally, SUP brand consoles (Game Boy clones) performed well in the first half of the year. They accounted for 7.7% of all consoles sold during this period. "M.Video" did not specify their share in ruble sales.
  • Meanwhile, XBOX struggled in the Russian market. Microsoft's console sales revenue share decreased from 7% to nearly negligible 2%. The data on the number of devices sold during the first half of the year is not provided, but judging by the figures for other companies' consoles, XBOX's share was also around 2% or even less.
  • The largest price segment for the half-year was consoles costing 1,500-2,000 rubles, making up 27.4%. These included mainly retro consoles and gaming sticks. Consoles priced over 48,000 rubles were also widely represented, comprising 20.8% of the market.
