The UK Games Fund has unveiled its most extensive group of independent studios to benefit from grants up to £100,000
The UK Games Fund has announced it will support its largest group of companies since it began in 2015.
Grants of up to £100,000 have been awarded to 29 independent UK studios under the expanded Prototype Fund.
"After reopening applications for the Prototype Fund this April, we saw significant interest from highly skilled teams working on ambitious and imaginative projects," stated UK Games Fund director Kirsty Gibson.
This funding aids indie studios in creating original intellectual properties, advancing their projects, generating jobs, and enhancing their potential to secure further investments.

"This financial support allows us to fulfill our bold objectives and create a life simulation experience that is uniquely tailored to players," shared Toyumi co-founder and CTO Sofie Marien.

Part of the UK government's Industrial Strategy and the Creative Industries Sector Plan, the Games Growth Package includes £28.5 million more for the UK Games Fund to be dispensed over the coming three years. It also dedicates £1.5 million to the London Games Festival.
This funding initiative has three components: the Prototype Fund, the Starter Fund which offers up to £20,000 in grants, and the Content Fund with up to £250,000 available to help complete projects and expand studios.
