Metacore, the company behind Merge Mansion, is being acquired by Supercell, integrating the game into Supercell's collection of live games.

Released in 2020, Merge Mansion has experienced substantial success, amassing over 60 million downloads. The game, a merge 2 mystery puzzle, combines renovation elements with a storyline of unveiling hidden mysteries within a dilapidated family estate.

The game has reportedly earned approximately $700 million in revenue, with Supercell suggesting there's potential for its popularity to grow further.

Supercell's CEO, Ilkka Paananen, highlighted the dedication of the team behind Merge Mansion, which has engaged players for more than five years. "The game has a foundational appeal developed by those who were pioneers in the merge 2 game category..." said Paananen. He expressed optimism about its future, noting Supercell’s proficiency in advancing global live games, suggesting they can assist Merge Mansion in ascending to its rightful status.

Meanwhile, Metacore's CEO Mika Tammenkoski expressed confidence in the acquisition, stating: "Supercell offers the ideal future environment for Merge Mansion. It is a remarkable game, warranting every opportunity to thrive in its future."

Additionally, Ilkka Paananen recently received a BAFTA Fellowship, a recognition given at the BAFTA Game Awards this year.
