Cheer Games has secured $4.5 million in pre-seed funding

Cheer Games has successfully secured $4.5 million in pre-seed funding.

Originating in Barcelona, this company, started by former leaders from AppLovin's Lion Studios and the minds behind Hexa Sort, aims to use the funds—spearheaded by Makers Fund with participation from Play Ventures—to "boost the creation of Cheer’s forthcoming game lineup and enhance its headquarters in Barcelona by recruiting new international talent."

The company currently consists of a team of 11 members who have extensive experience in the mobile sector and mentioned that they "are in the process of hiring."

"When I see Berkay, Kutay, and Ertan, I observe individuals who crafted the games that set industry benchmarks, deciding to focus on future innovations," remarked Emre Gercel, CEO and co-founder of Cheer Games.

He further stated, "Berkay's design skill turned Hexa Sort into a globally top-grossing sort game, challenging the industry to keep up. Kutay not only scaled games, but he also advanced the system that scales them. Ertan didn't stop at just one, but built two prosperous studios from the ground up. This combined expertise is rare."

Gercel continued: "The vision behind Cheer was to create something everlasting, beyond the industry's short-term focus. We aim to develop games that turn into franchises and studios into lasting entities. Barcelona grants us a worldwide platform, our Turkish heritage fuels our ambition, and this team reassures me that success is inevitable."

Additionally, it was recently reported that Vento Games has raised $4 million in a new seed funding round.
