Tencent has invested in the developers of the bodycam shooter Unrecord

According to GamesIndustry, the Chinese giant has acquired a minority stake in Drama Studios. Neither the exact size of the stake nor the amount of the transaction has been publicly disclosed.

Drama Studios plans to use the funds from Tencent to expedite the development of Unrecord— a realistic first-person shooter viewed through a body camera. Additionally, the studio aims to hire more staff. Currently, the team comprises 10 employees, but at the start of the game’s creation, it had only a couple of people, so the studio will continue its steady growth.

According to Drama Studios, Unrecord is currently in full production. The developers have not yet announced a potential release date for the shooter but promise to share updates on the game next year.

Unrecord is one of the most anticipated upcoming releases on Steam. It ranks ninth among the games with the most wishlists, surpassing Half Sword, Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era, and many other projects.

The creators of Unrecord are not new to attracting investments. In September 2024, they raised $2.5 million in a seed funding round, with the majority of the amount provided by The Games Fund.
