The studio Torpor Games announced investments in the news stream of Suzerain on Steam. They revealed that they have received funding as part of a minority seed round. Besides KRAFTON, two other funds participated—Sisu Game Ventures and 1Up Ventures.

The developers did not delve into all the deal details but emphasized that Torpor Games remains independent. The studio retained both creative and operational control.

The funds raised by Torpor Games are intended for the development of the Suzerain franchise. Currently, they plan to develop two new expansions and two games. It is known that one of the games being developed is The Conformist, a narrative RPG with sandbox elements about working as a propagandist.

Torpor Games is a German indie studio founded in 2019. In the summer of 2025, its managing director Ata Sergey Nowak announced that over the course of its existence, the team received a total of 470,000 euros from various investors. This amount has now increased, but by how much is unknown.
