The studio Redhill Games, founded by Wargaming veterans, will lay off part of its staff
Layoffs are planned as part of a restructuring process that will commence shortly.
Nine to Five
Redhill Games has not specified how many people it plans to lay off or what prompted the business restructuring. However, the company admitted that this restructuring signifies the "end of the current chapter in its history" for the studio.
In its press release, Redhill Games did not explicitly state this, but it seems the layoffs will affect employees involved in supporting several Supercell games. The studio stated that it will "ensure a smooth transition" for them. It's also possible that they might simply be assigned to different projects. Whether this is related to the recent shutdown of Squad Busters by Supercell is unknown.
To recap, Redhill Games is a Finnish team that was founded in 2018 by four former top managers from Wargaming. Four years after its establishment, the studio released its debut game, a tactical shooter called Nine to Five, but it did not last long. By 2023, its servers were shut down, and Redhill Games decided to focus on assisting other companies with their projects instead of developing its own games. Notably, it contributed to Overwatch 2.
