Fragbite has sold Playdigious to the venture fund Griffin Gaming Partners for $12.2 million

Fragbite has sold its subsidiary Playdigious to the investment firm Griffin Gaming Partners in a transaction worth $12.2 million (equivalent to €10.5 million).

Within the agreement, Fragbite Group, known for its gaming and esports operations, will receive 90% of the net income from PC titles like Fretless – The Wrath of Riffson, which are published through its Playdigious Originals label.

Playdigious is recognized predominantly as a mobile game publisher, distributing titles like Dead Cells and Cultist Simulator, and also managing releases for the Switch console.

According to Fragbite, purchasing Playdigious in 2021 proved advantageous, and the recent sale allows the company to bolster its financial standing and foster new strategic ventures. Though Playdigious accounted for 77% of the revenue as Fragbite's most significant subsidiary in 2024, the company anticipates that the divestiture will have minimal impact on its Gaming business strategy, which emphasizes decentralization and intellectual property rights.

CEO Stefan Tengvall of Fragbite remarked, “Acquiring Playdigious in 2021 was beneficial, and by selling the subsidiary, we can reinforce our capital and support new strategic directions, including the Bitcoin Treasury initiative." He added that the relationship with the Playdigious team, composed of founders Xavier Liard and Romain Tisserand, and CEO Abrial Da Costa, remains robust. He expressed pride in the Playdigious team and optimism for their future growth alongside Griffin Gaming Partners.

Playdigious was initially purchased by Fragbite Group, which was formerly FunRock, a Swedish mobile gaming company, in 2021. Following the departure of ex-CEO Marcus Teilman last year, Tengvall took over the leadership position.
