In 2025, Microsoft invested a record amount in Game Pass
The head of the ID@Xbox program, Chris Charla, in an interview with Eurogamer, stated that this year Microsoft has invested more in the Game Pass subscription than ever before. However, he did not disclose the exact amount of investment.

According to Charla, the corporation still aims to curate a highly diverse catalog of games. To achieve this, they are making deals with an increasing number of developers. For instance, in 2024, Microsoft signed agreements with more than 50 teams that hadn't previously released games on Game Pass.
Charla added that the "majority" of developers whose games are already part of the subscription wish to include their new projects in Game Pass in the future. Currently, around 150 partners have agreed to extend their collaboration with Microsoft.
It is worth noting that Microsoft announced last summer that Game Pass is profitable despite significant expenses. Additionally, for the financial year that lasted from July 2024 to June 2025, the subscription generated its highest revenue in history, reaching $5 billion.
