The City of Liverpool College has joined forces with GameChangers, a non-profit careers initiative, to launch a no-cost management diploma program at the college.

This one-year academic course, titled the Principles of Management and Leadership Level 3 Diploma, is tailored for individuals currently in management roles or aspiring to these positions within the gaming sector.

Specifically, the course caters to professionals who lead development or operational teams, establish and evaluate project objectives, manage daily operations, and guide teams to ensure efficient project execution.

Participants in the course will engage in a combination of online and on-campus education, with modules covering essential management topics such as stakeholder relationship management, team leadership, project implementation, and data handling.

Applications are currently being accepted for the course, which commences in September 2025. The program is free for applicants earning less than £34K annually, or those meeting specific eligibility criteria.

Liverpool City Region Mayor Steve Rotheram remarked, "The Liverpool City Region has always been rich in creativity and talent, and our gaming sector is no exception."

He added, "This new diploma marks significant progress in positioning our region at the forefront of the UK’s digital and creative sectors. By gaining support from top games studios, we are creating exciting opportunities for local youth to pursue careers in an expanding industry that is flourishing right at our doorstep."
