The City of Liverpool College has partnered with the organization GameChangers to launch a complimentary management diploma program at the college.
The course, named Principles of Management and Leadership Level 3 Diploma, will be conducted over one year by The City of Liverpool College. It is tailored for individuals currently in or aspiring to enter management roles within the gaming industry.
This educational offering is "aimed at those engaged in the sector who manage development teams or operational personnel, establish and track objectives, supervise routine operations, and direct team members to ensure efficient execution of projects or tasks."
Combining both virtual and in-person classes, the curriculum addresses numerous management topics, such as stakeholder engagement, team leadership, project management, and data handling.
Applications are now being accepted for the program, scheduled to commence in September 2025. The course is free for those earning less than £34K per year, provided they meet the eligibility requirements.
"Liverpool has consistently been a hub of creativity and talent, and our gaming industry is no different," stated Steve Rotheram, the mayor of the Liverpool City Region.
"This new diploma represents significant progress in establishing our region as a leader in the UK’s digital and creative industries. With the support of top game studios, we are creating new, exciting career opportunities for local youth in a burgeoning sector right in our vicinity."
