"M.Video-Eldorado": In the first half of 2025, Russians purchased consoles worth 12 billion rubles
At the beginning of the month, the retail network M.Video-Eldorado reported on console sales in Russia for January-March 2025. A few weeks later, it summed up the results for the entire first half of the year.
According to the company's calculations, Russian residents purchased a total of 655,000 consoles over the half-year period. For comparison, the number was higher in the first half of 2024—704,000 devices.
The total amount spent also decreased predictably. This time, Russians collectively spent 12 billion rubles on console purchases, which is approximately 22.5% less than the previous year.
PlayStation consoles have remained the sales leader in the country for several years. As noted by M.Video-Eldorado, they accounted for 64.9% of sales in rubles and 21.8% in units.
In terms of sales in ruble value, the Steam Deck took second place with a share of 10.9%.
Next came Nintendo consoles. Thanks to the release of the Nintendo Switch 2, their share in monetary sales increased from 5% to 8%. M.Video-Eldorado added that, at least in its network, the bundle with Mario Kart World was particularly popular—selling twice as well as the standalone Nintendo Switch 2.
Regarding Xbox, Microsoft's consoles were responsible for 7% of sales in rubles and 3% of sales in units.
