Appcharge, a payment platform focused on direct-to-consumer services for mobile game publishers, scrutinized $500 million in web store transactions to reveal significant differences in payment methods across various regions.
According to their report, credit cards are used in approximately 35% of global web store transactions. However, there's notable diversity in usage by region. In Canada, they represent 55% of transactions, contrasting sharply with Poland, where credit cards are only used in 6% of transactions.

In Germany, PayPal dominates the payment landscape, facilitating 64% of web store transactions. This contrasts with its usage in the U.S. and the U.K., where the platform accounts for 20% and 14% of transactions, respectively.
The United Kingdom shows strong adoption of Apple Pay, featuring in 37% of transactions, which surpasses credit card use at 27%. This makes it one of the few regions where Apple Pay exceeds credit card usage.

In Spain, Google Pay is prevalent, being utilized in 43% of transactions, compared to 21% in the U.K.
The Netherlands stands out for its heavy reliance on the iDEAL payment system, which accounts for 68% of transactions in the country.
