The creators of War Thunder reported that the acquisition marks a new chapter in the history of Gaijin Entertainment. The company has made an important stride in the UGC segment and now aims to capitalize on it.
Management of The Pit will be taken over by EndoWorlds, a subsidiary studio of Gaijin Entertainment, which specializes in games within Fortnite.
The Pit appeared in Fortnite in 2020. According to the Fortnite.gg service, at its peak, 139.6 thousand people were simultaneously present on this island, ranking it 69th among the most popular islands in the game.
In March 2023, Epic Games, the developer of Fortnite, began sharing revenue with creators of successful maps. The total amount Geerzy has received to date is unknown. However, in March 2024, analyst David Taylor estimated that at least within a year from the start of the program, The Pit had brought Geerzy $14.6 million.
