Game development firm BetaDwarf, located in Copenhagen, has obtained backing from Square Enix.

The financial specifics remain undisclosed, but the investment is set to bolster the development speed of their new project, Vaultbreakers.

This funding will also enhance BetaDwarf's production capabilities and support its "community-driven development" initiatives.

Hideaki Uehara, Square Enix's general manager of business development, stated, "Square Enix constantly seeks top-quality games and talented studios."

He continued, "After meeting with BetaDwarf and understanding their mission and enthusiasm, we decided to invest to aid them in achieving their vision and reaching global players."

Steffen Kabbelgaard, CEO of BetaDwarf, said, "Collaborating with Square Enix provides unparalleled access to knowledge, talent, and resources."

"Receiving this additional support is phenomenal as we are deep into production, and it truly makes a difference compared to having just begun an uncertain journey," he added.

Established in 2012, BetaDwarf is recognized for games such as Forced, Forced: Showdown, and Minion Masters.

Previously, in April 2019, they received investment from London Venture Partners, and by September 2019, they successfully raised $6.6 million in another round of funding.
