The Nioh series games have been purchased over 8 million times
The publisher Koei Tecmo and studio Team Ninja have announced that the total sales of the Nioh series have exceeded 8 million copies. The breakdown of sales between the first Nioh and its sequel was not specified.

Recall that it was known as of February that the sales of the series were approaching 8 million copies. This was revealed in an interview with Denfamicogame by the founder and CEO of Koei Tecmo, Yoichi Erikawa. He also mentioned that 90% of the total sales come from the US and Europe.
Here are the previous milestones of the series:
- 1 million copies (only the first Nioh) — February 24, 2017;
- 2 million copies (only the first Nioh) — May 29, 2018;
- 3 million copies (only the first Nioh) — February 9, 2020;
- 5 million copies — April 28, 2021;
- 6 million copies — September 9, 2021;
- 7 million copies — October 26, 2022.
The first Nioh was released on February 7, 2017, and the second part debuted on March 12, 2020. Both games are available on PC, as well as PlayStation 4 and 5 consoles.
