The Texas Chain Saw Massacre game will cease to receive support as the studio arrives at a "natural creative end"

Gun Interactive is concluding its involvement with its asymmetric multiplayer horror title, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. As of May 2025, the game will no longer receive new content or further support.
The studio, in a statement to its fanbase, expressed that they believe they have "fully realized" the game. It was originally launched in August 2023.
The announcement elaborated, "This signifies no additional DLC, balance changes, or bug corrections following our upcoming May update. However, players can anticipate a few more patches to facilitate a switch to peer-to-peer matchmaking."
In contrast to other licensed games like Marvel's Avengers, which vanish from digital marketplaces post-support, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre will remain accessible.
The statement reassured, "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre remains playable and will not be removed from online stores. Our community team continues to engage with players as we honor The Texas Chain Saw Massacre alongside fans who cherish the game as much as we do."
Some users on Steam have responded with negative reviews. Steam Charts recorded a peak player count of 1,677 in April.
The studio emphasized the importance of clarity in their decision-making process, stating, "As a creative entity, it's critical to convey that we have reached the end of this project's creative journey."
Furthermore, the studio hinted at the development of a new project, indicating they are "eager to keep delivering beloved horror games."
