A developer living on a boat reported that her boat-themed game, Spilled!, was purchased 50,000 times in a month
Spilled! is a relaxing game where the player controls a small boat and cleans the world's oceans of spilled oil and various types of garbage. It was created by developer Lente, who dropped out of school two years ago and has since lived on a similar boat. According to her, the game's release turned out to be successful.
Spilled!
Spilled! was released on March 26, 2025, on Steam. As GamesRadar noted recently, at the end of April, Lente wrote on X that the game's sales surpassed 50,000 copies. This is a very good result for a project mostly developed by one person*.
The rating for Spilled! is also excellent. At the time of writing, the game received over 2,000 reviews, with 95% praising it. Steam users note that Spilled! is a very cozy game. It has plenty of content, but if desired, it can be completed in just an hour. Some players considered the short length a drawback, while others pointed out that this means Spilled! doesn't overstay its welcome.
