Krafton has acquired a controlling stake valued at $14 million in the Indian game development company Nautilus Mobile

Krafton has taken a majority ownership in Nautilus Mobile, an Indian game developer, through a $14 million cash purchase.

This transaction, finalized last week, has been reported by TechCrunch to give Krafton over a 75% interest in the company, known for its Real Cricket franchise. This follows Krafton’s previous investment of $5.4 million in 2022.

Nautilus Mobile is expected to operate independently, keeping its team of 45 employees intact. The acquisition makes Nautilus the thirteenth studio under Krafton's umbrella, alongside Bluehole, PUBG Studios, Striking Distance, Unknown Worlds, Tango Gameworks, and InZOI Studio.

Anuj Mankar, CEO of Nautilus, stated, “Our development capability in Nautilus will help Krafton double down on its India gaming strategy, and together, we can probably build more games, more genres, both for the Indian market and global market going forward.”

Nihansh Bhat, leading corporate development in India for Krafton, mentioned to TechCrunch, “We strongly believe that cricket games have a lot of potential, and we want to work with Nautilus to make the best effort possible to really realize the potential of this market, not just in India, but in other cricket-playing nations and other countries, which are becoming more active in cricket.”
