Paradox Interactive has acquired the creators of Jagged Alliance 3 and Surviving Mars
As part of its financial report, Paradox Interactive announced the addition to its subsidiary studios. The Bulgarian studio Haemimont Games has joined the company.
Surviving Mars
The cost of the deal has not been disclosed. It is only known that Paradox Interactive paid part of the money upfront, with the remainder to be paid over the next few years. The final amount will depend on Haemimont Games' performance.
The management of Haemimont Games will continue to lead the studio, and all regular employees will retain their positions. The acquisition will not affect Haemimont Games' projects—the studio will continue working on its in-progress games.
Founded in 1997, Haemimont Games specializes in strategy and city-building games. They have developed titles such as Victor Vran, Surviving Mars, Jagged Alliance 3, as well as the third, fourth, and fifth installments of Tropico. According to the information on the studio's website, their team currently consists of over 65 people.
