Sumo Group has declared plans to pivot its operations entirely towards offering development services for other companies, leading to a company restructuring and potential job losses.

In an internal message, the company stated this shift aims to enhance focus on key strengths and enable a return to prosperity.

The transition is expected to affect both studios and staff, but the company emphasized its intention to lessen the impact by considering various means to retain employees and to provide support with openness, empathy, and concern.

The restructuring is not anticipated to affect any current or forthcoming agreements with partners.

Sumo Group is recognized for collaborating on games like Team Sonic Racing, Snake Pass, and Sackboy: A Big Adventure.

Last year, in June, the company announced a reduction in workforce by nearly 15%, leading to the redundancy of approximately 250 staff members.
