NieR: Automata has been purchased 9 million times

PlatinumGames and Square Enix have announced that NieR: Automata sales have reached a new major milestone. By the end of 2024, the game had sold over 9 million copies worldwide.

The last sales figures for NieR: Automata were disclosed in February 2024, when they stood at 8 million copies. Thus, the game was purchased another million times in less than a year.

Now, the key sales milestones for NieR: Automata are as follows:

▫️1 million copies — April 2017;
▫️2 million copies — September 2017;
▫️3 million copies — June 2018;
▫️4 million copies — June 2019;
▫️5 million copies — December 2020;
▫️6 million copies — June 2021;
▫️7 million copies — November 2022;
▫️8 million copies — February 2024;
▫️9 million copies — December 2024.

Recall, NieR: Automata initially launched on February 23, 2017, in Japan, and went global on March 10 of the same year. The game is currently available on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
