Former developers of Disco Elysium, now part of Dark Math Games, have obtained an investment in the seven-figure range
Dark Math Games has obtained further funding for its first venture, titled XXX Nightshift.
The studio has chosen not to disclose the precise amount raised but confirmed to GamesIndustry.biz that it is a seven-figure investment.
This funding is provided by MM Grupp, an investor from Estonia that has contributed to the financial support of 132 firms across sectors such as media, entertainment, and healthcare.
MM Grupp, a principal investor in the well-received RPG Disco Elysium by ZA/UM, is now backing Dark Math Games, established earlier this year by former team members of ZA/UM, including Disco Elysium's executive producer, Kaur Kender.
Described as a "true detective RPG," XXX Nightshift is seen by many as a successor in the same vein as Disco Elysium.
"We are excited to team up with an investor that values both art and the video game sector," remarked Kender. "The support from MM Grupp will ensure stability and a long-term perspective. Our past collaboration was successful, and we are confident in doing so again."
Kristel Volver, CEO of MM Grupp, commented: "The team at [Dark Math] has a demonstrated history of success, and the new game's creative idea is ambitious and captivating."
