Tencent confirmed to PocketGamer that it carried out layoffs at the London office of Sharkmob studio. The exact number of dismissed employees has not been disclosed.

"Like many other studios, Sharkmob has encountered challenges in the difficult gaming market," Tencent's statement said.
PocketGamer, citing employee posts on social media, reports that the layoffs affected a "significant" part of the London team. However, there is no official confirmation of this.
According to GamesIndustry, last month the studio fell into a difficult situation following the cancellation of an unannounced project. A company representative then noted that the London team is doing everything possible to minimize the impact on its employees.
Tencent emphasized that these changes have not affected the work of the Sharkmob office in Malmö — the team continues to work on the extraction shooter Exoborne.
Sharkmob was acquired by Tencent in 2019. It is primarily known for Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodhunt.
