Keywords Studios acquired Certain Affinity, a studio involved in the development of Halo Infinite and Hogwarts Legacy
Game outsourcing company Keywords Studios announced the acquisition of a new studio. Certain Affinity, the team that assisted in the development of Hogwarts Legacy, DOOM, as well as games from the Call of Duty and Halo series, has come under the company's wing.
The size of the deal and all conditions are not disclosed. It is known that the leadership of Certain Affinity will remain and continue to head the studio.
Through the acquisition, Keywords Studios expects to accelerate its growth and expand its presence in the US and Canada. As for Certain Affinity, the deal will provide more stability in a challenging market, as in the spring of 2024, the studio already went through layoffs and is now pleased with the support from a large company.
Certain Affinity was founded in 2006 by former Bungie employees. It has offices in Austin and Toronto, with a total of over 180 employees. Currently, the studio, among other projects, is working with Archetype Entertainment on the sci-fi RPG about space exploration, EXODUS.
