Lost Boys Interactive laid off the majority of its employees

The layoffs at the subsidiary studios of the Swedish holding company Embracer Group have not ceased. New significant reductions have occurred at Lost Boys Interactive.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands

To recap, Lost Boys Interactive is an American studio that assists other teams in game development. They have worked on projects like Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, Diablo IV, PUBG: Battlegrounds, and New World.

In an official statement, the management of Lost Boys Interactive explained that the studio relies on the priorities and projects of its partners. Due to the challenging situation in the gaming industry, companies collaborating with Lost Boys Interactive have had to reassess their needs, which ultimately led to the layoffs. The management of Lost Boys Interactive promised to support the laid-off employees and assist them in finding new jobs.

The statement from Lost Boys Interactive does not specify how many people lost their jobs. However, journalist Stephen Totilo from Game File discovered a statement submitted by the studio to the Washington State authorities. It indicated that 139 people were laid off. According to the website of Lost Boys Interactive, the studio employed approximately 200 staff before the reductions.

This is already the second round of layoffs at Lost Boys Interactive in the past year. The previous one occurred in January.
