The best-selling Russian game of 2023 will get a sequel

The domestic indie studio The Bratans announced a numbered sequel to the game "Rusy vs. Lizards".

The new installment is positioned as a cooperative slasher-action game about battles between "glorious warriors" and "cunning lizards" who have acquired new "lizard" technologies.

Among the key innovations, aside from co-op, are the ability to ride dinosaurs and hug a white birch tree.

The release of "Rusy vs. Lizards" is planned for the first quarter of 2025. The developers themselves will publish the game under the Smola Game Studio brand.

Recall, the original game was created by a team of two people in their spare time over the course of six months. Its setting is based on the popular meme about the ancient Rus people's confrontation with alien invaders.

As of early December 2023, the game, according to the developers, sold 350,000 to 400,000 copies, with the majority of sales in Russia.
