Kwalee has acquired a minority stake in Devolver Digital

Kwalee has taken a minority stake in Devolver Digital.

The mobile gaming company now owns 3.58% of Devolver as part of its objective to enhance its presence in the PC and console markets.

This move comes after the release of the rhythm-based shooter game Robobeat for PC, created by Insanity Games. Kwalee is also planning future releases, including titles such as The Precinct by Fallen Tree Games, The Spirit of the Samurai from Digital Minds, and In Sink by Clock Out Games.

"I extend my gratitude to Harry [Miller] and the Devolver team for allowing us to invest in such a remarkable brand," stated Kwalee's founder and CEO, David Darling.

"Kwalee aims for significant growth and will invest and collaborate with top industry players to fulfill our mission of creating the most enjoyable games for global players."

Earlier this year, Kwalee invested €1.5 million in the French mobile studio 8SEC, known for its "hybrid casual" games.
