Toys for Bob studio, which developed Spyro and Crash Bandicoot remakes for Activision, gained independence

This happened after 19 years of working as a division of Activision. The information is official. This was announced on the studio's website.

"Toys for Bob is now becoming an independent game development studio," studio heads Paul Yan and Avery Lodato said in a joint letter.

"We are confident that now is the time to take the studio and future games to the next level. The opportunity [to become an independent team. — Ed.] will allow us to return to our roots, to become a small and flexible studio again," the appeal also says.

After parting ways with Activision, the company hopes for a future partnership with Microsoft.

It is also noted that the studio is currently at an early stage of developing its next game.

Founded in 1989, Toys for Bob is mainly famous for the development of two series — Star Control and Skylanders. In 2018, she released very successful remakes of the Crash Bandicoot and Spyro trilogies. After that, she also helped in the development of Call of Duty: Warzone, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and III.
