The Games Fund invested $1 million in the studio of former employees of CD Projekt and 11 bit Studios

The Games Fund led the seed round of financing for the young Polish studio Zakazane, founded by immigrants from CD Projekt and 11 bit Studios. He invested $1 million in developers.

The studio will spend this money on the development of the debut game, an isometric RPG in the Wild West setting. In a conversation with VentureBeat, the founders of Zakazane said that they are going to make a deep game with a great emphasis on morality.

They call their project a level iii game, where i means "independent". So Zakazane wants to emphasize that the game is fundamentally different from those developed by large companies. It is expected that it will be released on PC in the second half of 2026.

Zakazane was opened in 2022 by Jan Bartkowicz, former creative director of Cyberpunk 2077. Also among the founders are Piotr Chomiak and Radosław Gwarek, who were involved in This War of Mine and Frostpunk at the time.
