KRAFTON is going to invest another $150 million in India's gaming ecosystem
KRAFTON continues to actively conduct business in India. She announced that over the next two to three years she will spend $150 million to invest in the country’s gaming ecosystem.
In a comment to TechCrunch, the company assured that its plans are not related to the recent permission of the Indian authorities to re—launch Battlegrounds Mobile India, the regional version of PUBG Mobile, in the country. Recall that the game was banned in India from July 2022 to May 2023.
KRAFTON indicated that since 2021, it has invested about $140 million in 11 Indian gaming startups and a local gaming ecosystem. Among the companies she invested in were Nodwin Gaming, Loco and Pratilipi. KRAFTON considers India one of its main markets and believes that the investment will pay off in the future.
